I Want it All!

Anyone who is not a foodaholic really has no idea what a struggle something as simple as running to the grocery for a container of greek yogurt can be. From the moment we walk in, we are bombarded with pastries, ice creams, candies, cakes, chips, pop, and every other disgusting and poor choice known to man. It's so kind of the them to arrange their store so that I have to pass BY IT ALL on my way to the BACK of the store where they hide my poor plain style greek yogurt, while it is quietly crying in the dairy case like a wallflower at an 8th grade dance. Some days it takes ridiculous feats of mental strength to get through it all. Either way, EVERY time I walk past it, my mind secretly tells me to "pick it up. What's the harm? Who will know? It will taste soooooo good." Seriously...I cannot describe the mental battle that occurs every day. Let's not even mention the CRUELTY of the store to stock so very little of my poor container of yogurt that it is rarely even in the case. So, now I've successfully run the guantlet, only to not the get the cheese! Dammit. Fortunately, today is a day of strength.

Might be too strong?

Not much to say about today, other than vanilla. Worked, accessory class and broke the faucet handle on my kitchen sink. What can I say, they can't ALL be soul searching or surprise PR days. Unless you count breaking the handle as a PR, then I PR'd the shit out of it!

Zombies! Run!

Met up with Melissa at open gym to work on some accessory weaknesses. Watched her CRUSH some weight and find a 50# PR on her front squat and both of us unhappy on bench press. Note to self....must bench more. I did get a 10# PR on my front squat. We do these like twice a year now (it seems) so it was nice to focus on them and see improvement. CrossFit always surprises me when things you don't train develop into PR's. How does THAT happen? One of my favorite moments (other than the cool PR's) was an unknown guy commenting on Melissa and I being so supportive of each other while training. LOL! Well....that's what we DO! How can you improve and gain accomplishments without a supportive network of people?!

Other than hanging at the gym for awhile it was a typical Sunday. Laundry, cleaning, food prep. Not sure when I am getting my Christmas stuff down. So, if anyone is still wanting to celebrate the spirit of Christmas, stop on by and enjoy.

Breakfast @ 9:15

2 whole eggs - poached (REALLY enjoying these right now)
1 slice ezekiel toast with 1/2 T of coconut oil

1 Mile Run through Park:13:43 (Used the Zombies, Run app! It was really fun! I actually had to sprint to get away from the zombies! I will definitely be using that app more often. Totally got running out of my head mentally, so it was a much more enjoyable run than normal.)

Hiking Rest Day

Family day!! Got a really late start to the day. Took the kids for a 4.1 mile hike over in the Cave Creek area. They were fantastic! It was a relatively easy hike, mostly flat, but a good walk none the less. It was good to get out and hang with the fam bam for the day to enjoy the weather and each other. LOTS of life lessons were taught today. MUCH better day than the original plan of taking the kids to the dinosaur exhibit. Better quality time. Oh...and my body is W.R.E.C.K.E.D from the last 2 days of training!
Breakfast @ 10:00

2 POACHED eggs! (First time I have EVER poached an egg and I killed it!)
1 slice plain ezekiel toast with

Haters Gonna Hate

Judgmental people really get my goat. Who are you to judge someone? You have no idea what path they are running, where they have been, and where they are going. Everyone is fighting some battle in their life. Judgmental people demonstrate a true sign of immaturity. For me, at least today, I will let it light my fire. What a motivator to shove it up someone's ass with a "did you see that? Yeah....I just killed it. Don't judge a book by it's cover, you might be surprised by what you find inside." And you know what....I'm ROCKING a freaking AWESOME week! Thanks to my support team, the hubby, Melissa, Jen, and the awesome coaches Beau, CJ, Rob for accountability and of course SAM for all the OLY work.

Again started my morning with a little burn:

50 air squats
20s plank hold

The Triple Crown!!

Got a morning burn in with a quick WOD starting out cold. Warmed my achy muscles and joints up with this little ditty, burn some calories while in deficit, and cleared my head. My goal is to do this at least 5 days a weeks. I am working on my planks, so I incorporated day 1 of a 30 day plank challenge.
50 sit-ups
50 air squats
20s plank hold
50 push ups
10 tricep dips
(need more of these but didn't have the right thing in my bedroom to do them on.)

Breakfast @ 9:00

2 whole eggs
1/2 cinnamon raisin ezekiel
1/2 T coconut oil
Snack @ 12:00

1 c plain greek yogurt
1/4 c fresh pineapple
Lunch @ 2:00

2 c spinach
4.3 oz chicken
6 grape tomatoes

Pre-WOD

25 g protein shake

Today was the Triple Crown of CrossFit classes!!
Yep!! PR'd my Annie time by 0:59!
PR'd my Power Snatch by 10#! (FINALLY!! A 95# snatch! 6 months in the making)
PR'd my Isabel by 0:13! (75#)

Seriously....SO STOKED! After I hit the Power Snatch I just knew I had to PR my Isabel time too! Didn't seem to struggle with Isabel either. Mostly singled them out, but had a really good pace I could maintain throughout.

Followed the CrossFit class with a Gymnasty class. Always an ego killer. I did manage to get one back flip on the rings...with some help from Sam to get my ass over.

12 minute AMRAP

10 handstand thigh slaps (modified to lift hands off floor)
30 sec plank hold
3 handstand walks
20 sec plank holds on each side

Finished 3 rounds....yep....that's it.

Post-WOD

Muscle Pharm Aminos
Dinner @ 7:30

2 c Spinach
4.6 oz turkey seasoned with taco seasoning
1/4 c black beans
Awesome day! Back to work and normal routines tomorrow. I look forward to the normalcy again. :)

New Year, First Hangover

Yep, started another year with a hangover, but not a terribly epic one, so that's good! Good times, good friends, and a special bonding session with my gal pal Melissa. ;) Love that girl! Can't WAIT to see her changes over the next year! She is a damned BEAST!

I love quotes like this meme because they constantly remind me to keep focus. You can't just WISH for changes, you have to work for them. Having a crapton of accountability right now ain't anything to sneeze at either. I have a lot of people watching and since I hate to disappoint, I think it is gonna stick this time! I am optimistic about what this year will bring, though I am not happy that the Opens are so close. Why did I think they were in April? February?! 8 weeks to improve like EVERYTHING?! BAH!

Woke up really late this morning and was starving.

Breakfast @ 11:30

2 whole eggs
1/2 cinnamon raisin ezekiel muffin
1/2 t coconut oil

Was hungry not but an hour later!!
Lunch @ 2:00

1 c greek yogurt
20 g protein
1/4 c pineapple

Now I wasn't hungry at all for the rest of day and not really interested in food. :/ What a confusing day.
Dinner @ 7:00

2 c spinach
5 oz turkey with taco seasoning
1/4 c black beans
I'm out of greek yogurt now, so I might have a protein shake before bed?
